CANNES, France (Reuters) - U.S. director Terrence Malick's long-awaited film "The Tree of Life" won the Palme d'Or prize for best picture at the Cannes film festival on Sunday.
The award brought an end to the May 11-22 cinema showcase, where Danish director Lars Von Trier's shock expulsion for joking that he was a Nazi and Hitler sympathizer at a press conference overshadowed the event.
