Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Bonhams & Butterfields will hold an "Entertainment Memorabilia" auction on June 14. A hefty heap of personal effects and decorative items owned or worn by such names as Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Led Zeppelin and Elvis Presley will be available for interested collectors and admirers.
Up-for-bid memorabilia connected with movie stars, rock legends and television favorites include an Elvis Presley-signed photograph, a handbag and large eyeglasses worn by Estelle Getty on the "Golden Girls", a 1947 contract signed between Monroe and actor John Carroll and a Chinese gong once housed by Led Zeppelin.
Apparel such as a set of costumes from Debbie Reynolds' private collection and vintage clothing worn by celebrities Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera will also be auctioned.
Rock 'n roll enthusiasts can bid on a sterling silver Cartier box gifted to John Lennon in 1980, estimated at $3,000-5,000. A drum set used byMeg White of The White Stripes, Chris Isaak's signed 12-string electric Vox guitar and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" film costumes priced at $10,000-12,000 will be additional auction presentations.
Film buffs can pick up a reel of animated cells from Disney's "Peter Pan" and "Fantasia". Also of interest is a selection of property from silent film director Alfred Raboch's estate and original rock 'n roll artwork from The Peter Golding Collection.
