"Hawaii Five-O" rides back to TV after 30 years
LOS ANGELES - Classic detective series "Hawaii Five-O" is riding a big wave back to television with new stars and grittier action, but with the same legendary theme tune and idyllic surf culture that made it a worldwide hit more than 35 years ago. The free-wheeling cop drama that put Hawaii on the international TV map in 1969, returns to CBS in September in what producers said on Wednesday was a re-imagining, rather than a remake or sequel, to the beloved original, and with more emphasis on character.
Eminem leads album chart for fifth week
LOS ANGELES - Eminem ruled the U.S. pop album chart for a fifth week on Wednesday, fending off a strong debut from fellow rapper Rick Ross. Eminem's "Recovery" sold 187,000 copies during the week ended July 25, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Its total stands at almost 1.7 million.

"Jersey Shore" cast looks to bask in Miami sun
NEW YORK - With fist pumps and perfect tans, "Jersey Shore" returns to TV on Thursday for a new season of shows that has audiences wondering if the cast that put some reality back into reality TV is still really real after its brush with Hollywood stardom. For the new season, the cast of eight Italian-Americans holed up in a Seaside Heights, New Jersey home, including pugnacious Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, 22, and gym rat Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, 29, have packed up and moved to Miami.
ABC executive resigns amid sex harassment probe
LOS ANGELES - The head of entertainment programing and production at ABC resigned from the network as the company conducted an internal sexual harassment investigation, a source said Wednesday. The disclosure came a day after Steve McPherson abruptly stepped down as president of ABC Entertainment Group. Disney-owned ABC did not deny allegations of inappropriate conduct involving were involved.
Old Spice guy cast in Jennifer Aniston film
LOS ANGELES - Whether he's on a boat or a horse, one thing is certain: the Old Spice guy is on a roll. Isaiah Mustafa reveals exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter that he will be appear in Warner Bros.' "Horrible Bosses," starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. Casey Affleck wants sex harassment case arbitrated
LOS ANGELES - Casey Affleck is already moving to squelch those allegations of sexual harassment. The actor/filmmaker, who was sued Friday for sexual harassment by a producer on his upcoming documentary "I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix," filed a motion Wednesday seeking to move the case from the very public Los Angeles Superior Court to private arbitration. Affleck says Amanda White signed an agreement with an arbitration provision requiring that all disputes be resolved quietly.
Box office dud "Cop Out" tops DVD charts
LOS ANGELES debuted at No. 1 on trade publication Home Media Magazine's rental chart for the week ending July 25, is particularly significant: the title, like all Warner new releases, won't be available at rental kiosks or through Netflix for another month. "Cop Out" achieved its top-renter status solely through Blockbuster and other brick-and-mortar stores.
"Mike & Molly" puts some fat on people in Hollywood
LOS ANGELES - Fat people are coming to Hollywood, and actor Billy Gardell couldn't be happier. Gardell, who for years has labored as a stand-up comic and bit part actor, stars in the new romantic comedy "Mike & Molly" that begins airing on the CBS TV network in September, revolving around two people who meet at an Overeaters Anonymous self-help group.
Condoleezza Rice opts for Mozart concerto
PHILADELPHIA - Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice abandoned international affairs for a Mozart piano concerto on Tuesday, teaming up with Soul legend Aretha Franklin to perform at a charity concert. Rice, the Republican former aide to President George W. Bush, performed with the Queen of Soul, a committed Democrat who sang at President Barack Obama's inauguration, to raise money for underprivileged youth.
