Chase Location: Houston, TX, United States Published: March 17, 2011 7:19 p.m. EST Topics: Human Interest, Offbeat, Curiosity According to the Texas transportation officials obtained access to an electronic traffic sign in Houston and had it broadcast a message reading "POOP" then later changed it to ":) LOL." The Texas Department of Transportation said someone apparently broke a lock on the sign, which originally read "DETOUR," and changed the message twice. Finally workers who were notified of the irregularity re-secured the on-board computer Monday morning. A report in the Houston Chronicle on Tuesday quoted Department spokeswoman Raquelle Lewis as saying unauthorized electronic sign access "is disruptive of the process of trying to inform motorists of what's going on in the area."
