SEOUL, South Korea – Gunmen attacked a South Korean-operated construction site in northern Afghanistan killing one Bangladeshi worker.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports that seven other workers were missing following Friday's attack.

Yonhap cited an unidentified Foreign Ministry official as saying Saturday the gunmen retreated after exchanging gunfire with Afghan police.

It says no South Korean nationals were missing.

Calls to South Korea's Foreign Ministry were unanswered Saturday.
