Phoenix, AZ (AHN) - Rescuers in Arizona found Saturday morning what is likely the body of a 20-year-old Northern Arizona University student who had been reported missing on Tuesday.
Bryce Gillies went backpacking in alone in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park last Saturday, with plans to return by Monday, Northern Arizona Today reported.
He was reported missing on Tuesday. Rescuers believe it was his body they found at the top of a 100-foot drainage pour at around 9:30 a.m. July 25.
About 50 National Park Service volunteers and workers took part in the search for Gillies.
The body is being examined by the Coconino County Medical Examiner for positive identification.
