LOS ANGELES - R&B singer Rihanna broke her silence on Friday about the night her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown attacked her, saying he had bitten her, put her in a headlock and left her bleeding and swollen. "It wasn't the same person that says 'I love you.' It was not those...eyes," Rihanna, 21, told Diane Sawyer in an interview on ABC television's "Good Morning America" show.
Jackson film crosses $100 million internationally
LOS ANGELES - The Michael Jackson concert film "This Is It" has crossed the $100 million mark at international box offices as it enters its second weekend in theaters, the studio behind the movie said on Friday. The film has grossed $144 million worldwide, including $44 million from the United States and Canada.

LONDON - Seven black-and-white photographs of the Beatles sitting on a grassy field, taken by a teenage girl on the last day of filming for their movie Help!, will be sold next week, the auctioneer said. Gwyn Blanchard, then a 13-year-old student, trudged half an hour in the rain with a group of friends to the set of the Fab Four's second film, hoping for an autograph, but wound up being invited for a chat with her idols.
"Golden Girls" star McClanahan has heart surgery
LOS ANGELES - "Golden Girls" star Rue McClanahan is recovering in a hospital after having heart bypass surgery this week, her manager said on Thursday. McClanahan on Monday went to her doctor, who noticed her heart was irregular and asked her check into a New York hospital, said the actress' manager, Barbara Lawrence.
Calle 13 tops Latin Grammy awards
LAS VEGAS - Puerto-Rican hip-hop duo Calle 13 won five Latin Grammy awards on Thursday, including the coveted Album of the Year, helping cement their reputation as being among the vanguard of alternative reggaeton music. Singer Rene Perez, who calls himself "El Residente", thanked his mother onstage, paid tribute to late Argentine singer Mercedes Sosa, and stayed true to his political songs such as "La Perla" by criticizing the Puerto Rican government.
Court orders Beatles songs to be taken off website
LONDON - London-based record label EMI has won an injunction against music website BlueBeat.com which it said was selling Beatles songs without its permission. A federal court in Los Angeles has issued a temporary restraining order against the site after EMI, the Beatles' record label, took legal action against it on Tuesday.
Miss England gives up crown over brawl reports
LONDON - Beauty pageant winner Miss England gave up her title on Friday after reports she had been involved in a nightclub brawl with another beauty queen. Rachel Christie, niece of former British Olympic gold medal sprinter Linford Christie, was arrested earlier this week after allegedly getting into a fight with Miss Manchester, Sara Jones, at a club in the northern English city, newspapers reported.
In Berlin, music fans build a new history
BERLIN - Twenty-year-old Emilia was desperately trying to get a ticket to the MTV Europe Music Awards Thursday, shivering outside the O2 World stadium on a chill grey evening in what used to be East Berlin. "I've come all the way from Portugal with my friends. Do you know of anyone who could help us?" she queried, her youthful voice rising with a sense of desperation.
