Too late. Disney launching iPhone, iPod touch applications LOS ANGELES - Walt Disney Co <DIS.N> is launching free iPhone and iPod touch applications, giving fans access to Disney content and interactive features anywhere. Disney.com, part of the Disney Interactive Media Group, said it will offer users of the popular Apple Inc <AAPL.O> devices items like the new "Click2Life" feature that lets fans take pictures of images from the Disney.com Web site, and eventually in the physical world, and unlock exclusive content. Facebook challenges financial regulators: FINRA NEW YORK said. Google Voice lets users keep phone number SAN FRANCISCO - Google Inc <GOOG.O> has introduced a new feature that will allow consumers to use its Google Voice service without switching to a special phone number, potentially broadening the appeal of the nascent, and controversial, service. Google said late Monday that new users of its service will be able to have the calls that they don't answer forwarded to a special Google Voice electronic mailbox, essentially bypassing the voicemail provided by their phone carriers. Mobile web usage surge raises hopes of gear demand HELSINKI - Global mobile data traffic continued to surge in September, raising the prospect of increasing demand for battered telecom equipment makers. The largest Internet browser firm Opera Software ASA <OPERA.OL> said on Tuesday global data traffic through its mobile browser rose 8.7 percent in September from August. Opera's data traffic was up more than three-fold from a year ago. Chavez blames medical equipment problems on Philips CARACAS - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez blamed Dutch company Philips <PHG.AS> on Tuesday for problems the country's health network has had with medical equipment and said the government reserves the right to take legal action. Chavez's comments echoed those by Cuba's former president, Fidel Castro, who last month accused Philips of reneging on a contract and betraying Cuba and Venezuela by cutting off supplies of medical equipment due to pressure from the United States. U.S. investigating optical disc drive industry WASHINGTON - The U.S. Justice Department is investigating possible violations of antitrust law in the optical disc drive industry, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday. Spokeswoman Gina Talamona declined to discuss what companies were involved or give details about the probe but Sony <6758.T>, Hitachi <6501.T> and Toshiba <6502.T> have all acknowledged receiving subpoenas about the case. T-Mobile USA unveils no-contract option NEW YORK - T-Mobile USA has started offering new service plans including the option of signing up for unlimited services without committing to a long-term service contract as it looks to regain ground lost to rivals. The U.S. unit of Deutsche Telekom AG <DTEGn.DE> has been losing customers to smaller unlimited rivals Leap Wireless <LEAP.O> and MetroPCS Communications <PCS.N> as well as to the larger Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc <T.N>. Nokia, SAP form anti-piracy services firm HELSINKI - Nokia Oyj and SAP said on Tuesday they would establish a new company providing brand owners technological services to fight multi-billion dollar counterfeit and pirate products business. "We see a big business opportunity in brand protection services," Nokia's Antti-Jussi Suominen, general manager for Commerce, Corporate Development, said in a statement. The new firm, Original1, will be headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, and headed by Claudia Alsdorf, currently vice president of SAP Research. The new company is expected to begin operations before the end of 2009. Cisco to buy ScanSafe for $183 million BOSTON - Cisco Systems <CSCO.O> is buying privately held Web security company ScanSafe for about $183 million, a move that will intensify its battle with security giants Symantec Corp <SYMC.O> and McAfee Inc <MFE.N>. ScanSafe sells Web-based services that protect business computer networks and PCs from hackers, saving companies the cost of buying and installing software on their own equipment.
