Polanski attends wife's concert in Switzerland
MONTREUX, Switzerland - Film director Roman Polanski, freed earlier this week from house arrest in Switzerland, attended a Saturday night concert given by his wife at the Montreux jazz festival. The 76-year-old Polanski arrived with festival founder Claude Nobs for the performance by French actress and singer Emmanuelle Seigner on the closing night of the annual event on Lake Geneva, according to a Reuters witness.
Wesley Snipes loses appeal in tax case
MIAMI - Actor Wesley Snipes is headed for jail after losing his appeal of a three-year prison sentence for failing to file income tax returns for 1999 through 2001. A federal appeals court on Friday upheld the 47-year-old actor's 2008 conviction in an Ocala, Florida, court for three misdemeanors stemming from felony tax charges.
Lindsay Lohan attorney says actress will go to jail
LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan's new attorney, celebrity lawyer Robert Shapiro, said on Friday the troubled actress will got to jail as recently ordered by the judge overseeing her probation. Last week, California Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lohan to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence on July 20 for violating the terms of her probation on drunk driving charges because Lohan had missed alcohol education classes.
U2 is world's top earning band: survey
NEW YORK - Irish rockers U2, who netted $130 million from their massive world tour and other deals, are the world's top-earning musicians, according to Forbes.com. The group made $10 million in ticket sales on each tour stop and, along with merchandising revenue, hit the top of the list ahead of Australian heavy metal group AC/DC, who earned $114 million from their worldwide tour.
Justin Bieber gets new comic book
MONTREAL - He may not be a superhero, but teen singing sensation Justin Bieber is certainly a superstar. And now he is getting own biography comic book, courtesy Bluewater Productions. The 32-page "Fame: Justin Bieber" comic, due out in October, will chronicle the 16-year-old singer's climb to current heartthrob status.

NEW YORK for a tentative bow this fall, but he's not forsaking the four-piece band that he fronts.
Cast rises above indignities of "Dinner"
NEW YORK - A tale of new-friend stalkerdom so extreme it makes "The Cable Guy" look tame, "Dinner for Schmucks" mocks its central buffoon as mercilessly as the soulless execs it would scold for doing the same thing. Though not as guffaw-rich as previous efforts by the talents involved, it comes close enough to the mark to please their fans, spelling strong box-office appeal, if not comic edge. The Paramount release opens July 30. Though titled for the novel premise it borrows from the French film "Le Diner de Cons" -- wealthy businessmen hold a party in which their bizarre guests are unwittingly competing for a "biggest idiot" trophy -- "Schmucks" is actually more interested in the tortured relationship between one of the idiots in question, Steve Carell's Barry Speck, and the young striver, Paul Rudd's Tim Conrad, who invites him to the function against his better judgment.
Trace Adkins "Back in Town" with renewed energy
NASHVILLE - When Trace Adkins rolled into Spencer, Iowa, on September 20, 2009, to headline the Clay County Fair, little did the veteran country singer know that the date would change the course of his career. "Here we are at this fair in Iowa in the middle of nowhere," Adkins recalls, his reedy speaking voice rattling through a small, comfortable second-floor room at his publicist's Music Row office in Nashville. "We saw these people beginning to gather, and somebody told me that I had played that fair before. I just made the comment, 'Oh, cowboy's back in town.'"
Justin Bieber claims Lady Gaga's YouTube throne
LOS ANGELES - Teen sensation Justin Bieber has knocked Lady Gaga off her reign as holder of the most-viewed video on YouTube. Bieber, 16, who was discovered on YouTube, racked up more than 246 million views of his music video "Baby" on Friday, pushing Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" into second place with 245.6 million.
