Palo Alto, CA, United States (AHN) - Apple has reversed a decision to not allow customers to purchase an iPad with cash. Amidst bad PR over a disabled woman on fixed income being turned away, the company has now changed its company policy.

Diane Campbell, the woman in question, saved up her money to purchase the new high-tech device. However, when she went to the Apple Store a store clerk said she could only use a debit or credit card. The clerk went on to say it was to prevent iPads from reaching the black market.

"About a month ago, we said we'd like you to use a credit card when you buy your iPad, and that was the best way we could think of to make sure that people only bought two per individual," said Apple Sr. Vice President Ron Johnson in response to the ensuing brouhaha. "And then it came to our attention that Diane [Campbell], was very interested in buying an iPad with cash, and we made a decision today to change that."

The new policy allows customers the ability to purchase an iPad with cash, their email address, and other information needed to set up an "Apple account."

Campbell was given a complimentary iPad for her trouble.
