Three foreigners die in China balloon accident: report

BEIJING (AFP) - – Three foreign tourists were killed in the scenic southern Chinese town of Yangshuo on Wednesday when a hot-air balloon exploded and crashed, state-run media reported.

Xinhua news agency said five people were on board the balloon, which went out of control and exploded soon after taking off in Yangshuo, a popular tourist spot in the Guangxi region famed for its scenic karst hills.

The report said three people died, all of them foreigners, but said their nationalities were not immediately known.

It gave no information on the nationalities or fate of the other two people.
