Korea Hot Stocks - SK Energy, insurers gain
Reuters - Friday, February 27
SEOUL, Feb 27 - Stocks on the move on Friday include:

As of 0240 GMT, the main KOSPI <.KS11> was up 1.67 percent at 1,072.25 points.
The index opened 0.18 percent higher at 1,056.71 points.
**SK ENERGY UP AS CRUDE OIL PRICES RISE**
Shares in leading refiner SK Energy <096770.KS> gained on the latest strength in crude prices.
"Rising oil prices indicate that demand is picking up," said Jey Lee, an analyst at Daewoo Securities.
Crude oil <CLc1> prices have risen more than 29 percent since mid-February.
"Also expectations that the won currency has come near its bottom are helping," he added. A stronger won means reduced costs for the refiner of importing crude and carrying foreign currency denominated debts.
SK Energy was up 3.36 percent to 74,000 won as of 0240 GMT.

**INSURERS UP ON COURT RULING**
Shares in insurers rallied on Friday after a South Korean court ruled Thursday laws shielding casualty policy holders from criminal charges in car accidents were unconstitutional.
"This will probably help enforce more careful driving, which means fewer insurance claims related to traffic accidents," said Shim Kyu-sun, an analyst at HI Investment & Securities.
Hyundai Marine & Fire <001450.KS> rose 4.3 percent and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co Ltd <000810.KS> gained 1.91 percent.
