Taiwan dollar at over 7-mth high on funds, exporters
Reuters - Monday, June 1
TAIPEI, June 1 - The Taiwan dollar climbed sharply to a 7-1/2-month high on Monday on foreign fund inflows, exporter purchases and signs that the global recession may be easing after the U.S. economy shrank less than expected in the first quarter.

The Taiwan dollar <TWD=TP> strengthened to T$32.335 to the U.S. dollar by 0314 GMT, the highest level since reaching T$32.190 on Oct. 14 and higher than Wednesday's final price of T$32.650. Markets were closed on Thursday and Friday for a public holiday. (Reporting by Ralph Jennings and Lin Miao-jung; Editing by Ken Wills)
