Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) - A medical marijuana dispensary in Eagle Rock, California has been ordered by a court to stop selling pot.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant issued Friday an injunction against Hemp Factory V along Colorado Boulevard on grounds that collectives or patients and caregivers who plant marijuana for medical use, are not allowed to sell the hemp.
The judge agreed with Los Angeles City Atty. Carmen Trutanich's interpretation of the state law and because Hemp Factory V had no evidence that its members are growing marijuana collectively.
The dispensary's operator, Gevork Berberyan, claimed he was not selling the hemp but asks for voluntary donations to cover the cost of cultivating the plant. Berberyan said he and six other patients grow marijuana for up to 600 members of Hemp Factory V.
