Ashley Luberts, 12, and her grandmother Maria, 74 suffered burns while the latter also had issues from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is not yet known, though family members indicated it may have ignited by the living room and shifted upstairs through the rafters. Ashley Luberts, 12, and her grandmother Maria, 74 suffered burns while the latter also had issues from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire at Northwest 65th Street and 9th Avenue Northwest is not yet known, though family members indicated it may have ignited by the living room and shifted upstairs through the rafters. Ashley's father, A.J.was the first to notice the overnight blaze, yelling to wake everyone up and leading the charge to the roof. Six of the eight people then climbed a ladder to safety joining the one family member who had already made it to the ground level. The grandmother, after some prodding, jumped into the arms of an awaiting firefighter and police officer. A.J.
