Prices fell 1.4 percent Thursday and opened weak Friday morning, down an additional 0.4 percent per troy ounce. Gold bullion for immediate delivery was priced at $1,319 an ounce in the morning “fixing” in London. The fixing price is the price some mining companies use to sell their product. Thursday afternoon the fixing price was $1,343.50. In addition, gold for December delivery fell $4.10, or 0.3 percent, to $1,321.50 an ounce Friday morning in New York.
