Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Customs agents at the Los Angeles International Airport have arrested a man found with 15 live lizards inside his money belt.
Possessing two geckos, 11 skinks and two monitor lizards worth $8,500 was enough for Michael Plank, 40, to be detained upon arrival at the airport, according to officials of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service on Friday.
Plank came from Australia.
Agents arrested Plank for not having a proper permit to carry the said lizards.
He posted a $10,000 bail for his release.
A Los Angeles federal court will hear his case on Dec. 21.
