German cineaste Herzog to teach 'guerrilla filmmaking'

VENICE, Italy (AFP) - - Maverick German cineaste Werner Herzog said Saturday he was opening a school to teach "guerrilla filmmaking" at a variety of venues around the world.

Herzog will rent conference rooms "at infrequent intervals" to give seminars at his Rogue Film School over long weekends, he told reporters at the Venice film festival.
"The intensity, the determination to make films, is appealing to young people," Herzog said.
He is in Venice with the out-of-competition "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" and the surprise entry for the top prize Golden Lion, "My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?"
