"Our economy has grown at an average annual rate of over nine percent in the last few years. Despite the global economic slowdown, we hope to achieve a growth rate of over seven percent in the current financial year," Singh said in a speech to the Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry. "We expect to get back to the growth level of about nine percent per annum within two years," he added. Singh spoke on day two of a three-day trip to Saudi Arabia, the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the oil-rich Gulf state in 28 years.
