Port Authority Police say 24-year-old Ryan Brinkerhoff went to his office early Saturday morning, around 3 a.m., and got trapped in the elevator. He was stuck on the 40th floor. He worked on the 39th floor, and couldn't open the door because he didn't have the code. He reportedly sprayed cleaning fluid in the elevator and set it on fire to attract attention -- an apparent attempt to create a signal fire, the New York Post reported. The smoke activated a fire alarm, which sent the elevator to the ground floor, where police were waiting for him. When he got out of the elevator, police arrested him on four counts of arson. Police say Brinkerhoff was extremely intoxicated. According to press reports, Brinkerhoff is known for his partying ways. On his MySpace account, there is a video of him spraying fire by spitting booze into a cigarette lighter flame at a party as revelers cheer him on. On Brinkerhoff's Meetup.com profile, he lists beer and whiskey as his two chief interests.
