"Houston, we still have a problem" was the conclusion of the bestselling tabloid the Sun on Wednesday in a brief review of the 46-year-old's concert in Birmingham. Aiden Turner exits "Dancing With Stars" LOS ANGELES - Daytime television star Aiden Turner was voted off "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday after failing to impress the judges and audiences with his rumba the previous night. Turner likely suffered from lack of name recognition by audiences of the dance show, which is among the most-watched programs on U.S. TV, but the judges had also complained of his stiff dancing on Monday's performance program. "South Park" makers eye Mormon-inspired musical NEW YORK - The creators of television's satirical "South Park" animated show are set to cast their brash brand of humor on the Mormon church in a new musical comedy on Broadway, producers said on Wednesday. The Emmy-award winning "South Park" creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, will write and direct the musical, called "The Book of Mormon," according to producers of the show. It is set to premiere on Broadway in March 2011. Justin Bieber reclaims No. 1 on U.S. album chart LOS ANGELES - Canadian teen idol Justin Bieber returned to the No. 1 spot on the U.S. pop album chart Wednesday, while rock guitarist Slash scored the highest debut after his debut solo album came in at No. 3. Bieber's "My World 2.0" sold 102,000 copies during the week ended April 11, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It has sold 676,000 copies after three weeks. The album debuted at No. 1, but fell to No. 2 last week to make way for Usher's "Raymond v Raymond." The Usher album slipped to No. 2 with 92,000 copies, taking its two-week tally to 422,000. Wainwright opera explores domain of the diva LONDON - Opera is the new rock 'n' roll, intoned a program note for the London premiere of Rufus Wainwright's ground-breaking musical drama, "Prima Donna." Enjoying a short run at Sadler's Wells theater this week, his marathon composition combined the buzz of a rock concert and the glamour of a classical event. "District 9" star in talks for another alien film LOS ANGELES - Sharlto Copley, the South African actor who shot to fame as the ill-fated star of "District 9," is in talks to join the cast of "I Am Number Four," an adaptation of the upcoming young-adult science fiction book by James Frey and Jobie Hughes. Alex Pettyfer, a British actor making his American debut with "Beastly," is playing the title role of Four, one of nine aliens who escape their home planet before its annihilation by a rival species and hide out on Earth disguised as human high schoolers. Copley would play a man who hailed from the alien world's serving class but now is the title character's adult guardian and mentor. Shrek photo spread too saucy for studios LOS ANGELES - Shrek and friends have taken part in a bizarrely metrosexual photo spread for a men's magazine ahead of the release of the third installment in the hugely popular animated feature franchise. Needless to say, the studios behind "Shrek Forever After" say they regret the unorthodox depictions of the family-friendly characters. But no retribution, legal or otherwise, is planned. News agencies boycott Cannes briefing over access LONDON - News agencies Agence France-Press, Associated Press, Getty Images and Reuters said on Wednesday they would boycott a press conference announcing the lineup at this year's Cannes film festival due to a dispute over video access. The briefing, to be held in Paris on Thursday, is the most important ahead of the May 12-23 event, the world's largest film festival. Joss Whedon directing "Avengers" for Marvel LOS ANGELES - Joss Whedon is in final negotiations to direct the movie version of Marvel's all-star super-hero team "The Avengers." Whedon's name first surfaced on Web site iesb.net in early April as being on the shortlist of directors Marvel was considering for the gig. He quickly and quietly became the only candidate, with reports surfacing Tuesday he was in talks. Scrappy fighter "Kick-Ass" high on Hollywood radar NEW YORK - It had low-wattage stars, no Spiderman or Batman, and little money behind it. In short, the script had little that a major studio wants when developing a movie, yet days before its U.S. debut "Kick-Ass" now has what they all desire -- huge fan excitement. The new film about a costumed crime fighter with no real superpowers bills itself as a cheeky blend of teen humor and stylish violence, directed by a veteran of seedy British gangster films, Matthew Vaughn.
