Coolio arrested for crack possession

LOS ANGELES - Grammy-winning rapper Coolio was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday on suspicion of possessing drugs, police said. The 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Artis Levon Ivey Jr, was taken into custody at an LAX terminal at mid-morning after he was found with the narcotics, a Los Angeles police spokeswoman said.
U2 to begin world tour in Barcelona on June 30
NASHVILLE - U2 will kick off its world tour in Barcelona on June 30, and will begin the North American leg at Chicago's Soldier Field on September 12, sources told Billboard. The official announcement of the "U2360" stadium trek in support of the Irish rockers' new album "No Line on the Horizon" will be made on March 9.
ABC looks for replacement stars for "Dancing"
LOS ANGELES - "Dancing with the Stars" producers scrambled on Friday to find two swift replacements for next week's season premiere after singer Jewel and celebrity journalist Nancy O'Dell dropped out with injuries. The hit ABC show said it would not reveal the replacements until the eighth season kicks off on Monday.
Amy Winehouse charged with assault
LONDON - British singer Amy Winehouse has been charged with assault following an incident at a ball in London's Berkeley Square last year, her spokesman said on Friday. "Amy voluntarily attended a police station in London yesterday morning," her spokesman said in a statement.
Lollapalooza taps Kings of Leon, Jane's Addiction
NEW YORK - Kings of Leon will be among the headliners of this year's Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits festivals, Billboard sources have confirmed. Depeche Mode, the Beastie Boys and Jane's Addiction are also playing Lollapalooza, which takes place in Chicago's Grant Park Aug 7-9, the Chicago Tribune reports and Billboard's sources confirm. Both events are produced by Austin, Texas-based C3 Productions.
Film on Ethiopia's brutal past wins African Oscar
OUAGADOUGOU - A film set in Ethiopia about a bloodthirsty regime under which political dissidents and village children alike were ruthlessly killed has won best movie award at Africa's top film festival. "Teza," a feature by award-winning director Haile Gerima set during Mengistu Haile Mariam's 1974-1991 rule, won the top prize late on Saturday at this year's 40th pan-African FESPACO film festival in Burkina Faso.
Charlie Chaplin's son, Sydney, dies at 82
LOS ANGELES - Sydney Chaplin, the oldest surviving son of film legend Charlie Chaplin and a Tony-award winning actor in his own right, has died at the age of 82, the Los Angeles Times reported on Friday. Chaplin, who starred opposite Barbra Streisand in "Funny Girl" on Broadway, died on Tuesday at his home in the California desert community of Rancho Mirage, due to complications from a stroke, the Times reported.
Football star, actor Brian Bosworth arrested for DUI
LOS ANGELES - Former football star turned actor Brian Bosworth was arrested in Los Angeles on Friday on suspicion of driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle drunk along Hollywood Boulevard. Bosworth, a maverick linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks in the late 1980s who starred in the 1991 action film "Stone Cold," was taken into custody about 3:30 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Pamela Anderson shakes up Vivienne Westwood show
PARIS - Actress Pamela Anderson wiggled down the catwalk to a whooping audience on Friday and Vivienne Westwood told fashionistas to fight economic crisis by wearing a back-to-front shirt. Huge safety blankets folded into coats and out-of-control pink tulle added Westwood's trademark rebellious touch to the show, culminating in Anderson twirling down the catwalk first in a tutu and then in a skin-tight T-shirt.
