Drummer Tre Cool revealed the group - comprising him, singer Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt - were delighted to hear the parents went on to christen their baby Dookie after the band's 1994 breakthrough album. He said: "I heard these people had sex at our show a few years ago and they conceived a baby - now they're bringing the kid to see us too. They said they were sh**ging at the back of one of our shows - around the time 'Warning' came out - and that kid is like eight or nine now. They called it Dookie." Tre admires his fans' dedication, adding he thinks their music has helped many people deal with hard times in their lives. He explained to NME magazine: "I don't think we have average fans. I hear people who have only just got into Green Day and then, on the other side of it, you get the heavier stories about people who were going to commit suicide but realized there was someone else out there feeling the same way."
