U.S. Coast Guard officials say that more than 100 ice fishermen are stuck on the ice floe after it broke off the Ohio shoreline near Toldeo and plunged into the Great Lake. One person is already dead. The people used plywood slabs to get out to the frozen portion of the lake, but melting ice sank the planks, leaving the people stranded. Rescue ships and helicopters from the Coast Guard and state rescue agencies are trying to safely remove the people from the ice floe. As of 1:35 p.m. on Saturday, only 35 people have been safely rescued.
