David Fincher also won for director, while Jesse Eisenberg was named best actor for his star-turn as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Co-star Armie Hammer nabbed the supporting actor award for his scene-stealing performance as the Winklevoss twins, and Aaron Sorkin won the screenplay prize for his adaptation of Ben Mezrich's book "The Accidental Billionaires." "We appreciate what it represents in popular American film culture -- an intelligent moral drama told from multiple viewpoints with a complex protagonist who is neither hero nor villain," association president Brian Johnson, film critic for Maclean's magazine, said of The Social Network. Other winners included Jennifer Lawrence as best actress for her role in "Winter's Bone," and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld for her supporting role in "True Grit." "The Social Network" also received top honors from the New York and Los Angeles film critics groups.
