Jay Leno says new comedy show is "a lot more work"

LOS ANGELES - After 17 years of late night TV chat, Jay Leno says he's working harder than ever to fill his eagerly-anticipated new prime-time show with comedy. "It's a lot of material to fill. It is a lot of jokes. This is lot more work. A lot more work. You're doing probably three shows worth of comedy every night," Leno told reporters on Wednesday.
Jackson Brothers reality series a go at A&E
NEW YORK - Before Michael Jackson died, his brothers filmed a one-hour pilot for A&E that was supposed to include a reunion performance with Michael. But he never agreed to it, didn't do it, and died before it could be discussed again. But sources say that A&E will go forward with a series of further episodes that will chronicle the Jackson brothers' lives and show them grappling with Michael's death.
Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz smash chart records
NEW YORK - The Black Eyed Peas and Jason Mraz will shatter two records for longevity on the Billboard Hot 100 when the singles chart is released Thursday. With an eighth consecutive week at No. 1 for "I Gotta Feeling," the Black Eyed Peas will have held the top slot for an unprecedented 20 straight weeks, having previously led the list for the preceding 12 frames with "Boom Boom Pow," the lead single from its album "The E.N.D."
Diddy seeks new stars of Facebook generation
LOS ANGELES - Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs wants you -- a music star of the Facebook generation. He does not want a performer who can only sing, dance, or look good on TV , but one who can do all that, and social network. This past Sunday, Combs launched a new TV competition show on the MTV cable network called "P. Diddy's Starmaker" that, like "American Idol," aims to find an unknown singer who has the stuff to become a star.
"Lad rock" kings Kasabian reject Oasis tag
TOKYO - British band Kasabian have the local bomb squad's number on speed dial but the new kings of 'lad rock' insist their hell-raising days are behind them. Short-listed for the prestigious Mercury Prize after their third album "West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum," recently topped the charts, the psychedelic rockers flatly reject comparisons to another, globally successful all-male British band that also has its fair share of awards: Oasis.

Oprah and Dr Oz sue over alleged false endorsements
NEW YORK - Talk show host Oprah Winfrey and television expert Dr. Mehmet Oz, a frequent guest on Winfrey's show, sued more than 50 businesses on Wednesday, saying they had falsely claimed the pair endorsed various beauty products and dietary supplements. Winfrey's companies Harpo Inc. and OW Licensing Co. and Oz and his company Zo Co. sued the little-known firms located throughout America in a federal lawsuit in New York seeking to stop the "unauthorized and unlawful use" of their names, pictures, voices and trademarks.
YouTube signs deal to feature Time Warner cable shows
NEW YORK - YouTube has signed a deal with Time Warner Inc to feature program clips from a range of its cable networks, including CNN, Cartoon Network and TNT, the online video site said on Wednesday. The move is the latest by the Google Inc-owned video service to increase the range of video clips through which it can sell advertising as it tries to improve its chances of becoming profitable in the near term.
Strait dethrones Jackson on album chart
NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES - The King of Pop stepped aside for the King of Country on Wednesday, when George Strait's "Twang" replaced Michael Jackson's enduring "Number Ones" as the best-selling album in the country. Strait's new set sold 155,000 copies during the week ended August 16, according to Nielsen SoundScan, earning the country legend his fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. "Twang" follows in the footsteps of Strait's 1997 album, "Carrying Your Love With Me," 2004's "50 Number Ones," 2005's "Somewhere Down in Texas" and 2008's "Troubadour."
