MARKET SNAPSHOTS * The rupee <PKR=> ended flat at 84.90/95 to the dollar on Friday, unchanged from Thursday's close. [PKR/] * The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> ended 0.13 percent, or 13.32 points, higher at 9,902.62 on turnover of 120.01 million shares. [.KA] * The net outflow of foreign portfolio investment in the stock market was was $808,280 on Friday. [http://www.nccpl.com.pk/fipi-new/index.php] * U.S. stocks rose on Friday as investors took the Federal Reserve's discount rate increase as evidence the financial system is healing but worried the eventual withdrawal of easy money will hurt Wall Street. The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 9.45 points, or 0.09 percent, to 10,402.35. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 2.42 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,109.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> edged up 2.16 points, or 0.10 percent, to 2,243.87. [.N] * Oil prices rose to a six-week high above $80 a barrel on Monday extending the previous session's gaines, as speculation over a quick bailout for debt-laden Greece helped push the U.S. dollar lower. U.S. crude for March Delivery <CLc1> rose 57 cents to $80.38 a barrel by 0254 GMT, after having struck $80.47 -- the highest since Jan. 13. [O/R] * Gold jumped to its highest in a month on Monday as the U.S. dollar took a breather from a recent rally and fund buying picked up after the euro gained on talk about a speedy bailout for debt-ridden Greece. Spot gold <XAU=> hit an intraday high of $1,130.65 an ounce and was quoted at 1,126.55 by 0215 GMT, up $9.05 from New York's notional close on Friday.
