WASHINGTON (AFP) - – A televised benefit for Haiti earthquake victims hosted by George Clooney and featuring performances by Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Jay-Z and others will be streamed live on YouTube, MySpace and other websites, organizers said.

The two-hour "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon sponsored by MTV Networks starts at 8:00 pm (0100 GMT Saturday) and is to be shown on all of the major US broadcast television networks as well as a number of cable channels.

Google-owned YouTube said it will provide a live stream of the event at youtube.com/hopeforhaitinow and MTV said it will also be shown live on Hulu, MySpace, Fancast, AOL, MSN, Yahoo!, Bing.com, BET.com, MTV.com, CNN.com, VH1.com and Rhapsody.

The benefit is being held to raise money for a number of organizations including Oxfam America, the Red Cross, UNICEF, the UN World Food Program, Partners in Health, the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, and Yele Haiti, a charity foundation set up by the Haitian-born hip-hop star Wyclef Jean.

According to MTV, more than 100 Hollywood and music stars have agreed to take part in the benefit, which will be broadcast commercial-free from New York, London, Los Angeles and Haiti.

MTV said it will feature performances by Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Sting, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Beyonce, Coldplay and a collaboration between Bono and The Edge of U2 with Jay-Z and Rihanna.

Hollywood stars making appearances will include Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hanks and Will Smith, MTV said.
