It also is just behind two “Twilight” films as the biggest pre-selling movie in history. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” became the biggest “Harry Potter” film in advance ticket sales, according to Fandango. It’s also the third overall biggest film in presale history, behind only “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” The next biggest films in Fandango’s presale history are “Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith” and the next highest-selling “Harry Potter” film in presales, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” "In November 2001, 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' set the initial benchmark for an advance ticket-buying blockbuster on Fandango," says COO Rick Butler. "As the audiences matured, so did the franchise's storylines.
