Miami, FL (NewsBahn) - FUERZA BRUTA, the show with a difficult name to pronounce and describe has extended it's run at downtown Miami's Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Originally it was scheduled for a four-week run through July 5th, however, organizers and cast have confirmed the show has been extended a third time having it stay in the Magic City until August 9th.
The latest extension has broken the house record for the longest-running show at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. August 9th the show will go dark to make way for an engagement scheduled to open in Mexico in September.
"Miami has embraced Fuerza Bruta with such enthusiasm that we've responded by extending our stay in this great city," said Michael Cohl, Chairman of S2BN Entertainment, the Miami-based entertainment company that is producing the show. "Fuerza Bruta has generated a huge buzz and has quickly become the hot ticket for the summer."
AHN had the opportunity to witness this one of a kind show which can loosely be described as a "Cirque do Soleil-type" show; but has the elements of audience participation; combined with a nightclub feel; all while being a part of a living, breathing, art-installation piece.
Without giving too much of the show away participants and guests will be dazzled by the complexity of the production while at the same time marveling at it's simplicity. The Fuerza Bruta theatrical experience takes place completely on the Lynn Wolfson stage and begins the moment audiences walk in through the Center's loading dock into the G-Lounge - a gritty urban decorated raw space, filled with heart-pounding club music spun by some of the city's best DJs, multimedia art installations created by local artists, and a signature Barton G. food and beverage experience all await audience members.
When the show is ready to start and the audience has music and beverages pumping through them they are ushered onto the main stage where they are surrounded by a 360 degree spectacle featuring mind-blowing visual, auditory effects just inches above them that must be seen to be believed. Creators successfully engineer a full body sensory experience that goes beyond the typical shows downtown Miami is known for - musical, theatrical, or otherwise.
Reoccurring themes and characters you become invested in have you glued to every scene not wanting to miss a thing. For instance, the audience witnesses a man running at full speed harnessed to the ceiling on a giant treadmill, bursting through a series of moving walls; performers suspended in mid-air surrounded by a vast sea of mylar; and beautiful women twisting ethereally in a lucite pool above the audience. Guests aren't simply allowed to just stare but are tasked with suspending the pool above them with their hands.
Argentinean creative guru Diqui James known for his long running smash hit show "De La Guarda," created original scenes and customized staging exclusively for the Miami engagement.
When asked what she thought about the cast members flying above her to the sounds of South American Drum and Bass, Denise Madden, 50, said, "I loved that....it was a great...amazing experience."
As the performance winds down, the visual, auditory and sensory party experiences continues with a dance jam session that those worrisome of getting wet should avoid the mosh pit like center and simply wind down from the experience in the G-Lounge. Upon leaving wet and reminiscing what I just experience I thought the only people who had more fun at FUERZA BRUTA are the cast who get to play, swim, and dance in the High-brow venue.
However, not everyone felt the same way, "It was fun, but kind of annoying getting wet, but still cool," said Jackson Gregory age 26.
Others who didn't mind getting a little wet, were a couple form Boca who heard about the show and didn't want to miss it.
Pamela Eidleberg, 48, said, "It's very erotic and I loved the water nymphs." Her Husband Jeff Eidelberg, 47, sums up the experience best, "Even if you don't have rhythm...your feet and body are moving."
