Colorado Springs, CO (CNS) - Kelsey Grammer has made a successful plea to the Colorado Police Board to deny his sister's killer parole.
Even bad weather didn't prevent the 54-year-old actor's voice from being heard, his letter to the board prevented Karen Grammer's killer from being released on parole.
52-year-old Freddie Glenn is currently serving a life sentence for abducting and killing Karen in 1975 in Colorado Springs. He was being considered for a parole for his regular five-year review.
Grammer was supposed to arrive at the parole hearing Monday, but bad weather prevented him from attending. However, he has sent a letter to the board, asking them to reconsider giving Glenn freedom.
He said in his letter that Karen was "abducted," "raped," "savaged," and "butchered," and that her killer should not be released into society because they can never be sure that Glenn would not return to his old ways and kill another innocent victim again.
He also said that while he has forgiven Glenn, he can "never escape the horror" of his sister's brutal killing. The "Frasier" star also said that Glenn should pay for his sister's life with his own.
After reading Grammer's letter and hearing from the other victims' relatives, the board rejected the killer's request for parole.
