Lu beat the Pole 6-4, 7-6, 6-3 to make the third round in a Grand Slam for the second time, following his effort in Australia in 2009, making the most of Przysiezny's problems. He will play Germany's Florian Mayer, a former quarter-finalist here, in the third round. Mayer beat Mardy Fish, the runner-up at Queen's, in four sets. Lu kept himself in a cocoon of concentration as Przysiezny was seen by physiotherapists three times during the match and had one medical time-out as he received an extensive massage on his back. During this period -- after three games of the third set and with Lu two sets up -- the 26-year-old went to his end as if to receive service, to keep his focus, as his rival lay prone on the grass. "He had a tight back," Lu told AFP. "Many players get that on grass courts because of the low bounce and you have to stay low. It was good for me if he had some injury and lost the focus. I controlled the match -- he is a good player but I waited for my chance. "I didn't know what was going on. I looked at them but thought, 'Don't think too much about it.' You don't know if it is real or if it is fake. I don't mean anything by that -- I was just telling myself to concentrate in the match. "I did not want to cool down and wanted to be ready for the next game. I kept my concentration and that was the key point." This is Lu's best effort at The Championships, surpassing his second round exits in 2004 and 2005. Przysiezny, who knocked out 17th seed Ivan Ljubicic in the first round, called for treatment when leading the second set 6-5 but got up from his chair, and Lu won his service game to force a tie-break which he won 9-7. Leading 2-1 in the third set, Przysiezny was granted a medical time-out and received treatment on his back after the pair had been on court for two and a quarter hours. He had further massage, as he lay on the grass, between the fifth and sixth games of the set but Lu broke his serve in the sixth, again in the eighth game and served out for the match.
