KARACHI, Sept 22 - Following is a list of events in Pakistan as well as news stories and press reports which may influence financial markets.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN PAKISTAN, ALL TIMES LOCAL FOLLOWED BY GMT:

* State Bank of Pakistan due to hold a treasury bill auction with a target of 75 billion rupees on Wednesday.
MARKET SNAPSHOTS
* The rupee <PKR=> eased to 85.77/87 to the dollar on Tuesday, down from 85.65/70 on Monday amid higher payments for imports and dealers expect pressure to continue. [PKR/]
The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> ended 0.71 percent, or 71.08 points, lower at 9.992.50
Turnover rose to 88.44 million shares, compared with 65.05 million shares traded on Monday.[.KA]
* The net inflow of foreign portfolio investment in the stock market was $651,181 on Tuesday.
* U.S. stocks ended flat to lower in an erratic session on Tuesday after the Federal Reserve inched closer to further steps to spur the economy.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 7.41 points, or 0.07 percent, at 10,761.03. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 2.93 points, or 0.26 percent, at 1,139.78. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 6.48 points, or 0.28 percent, at 2,349.35. [.N]
* Oil got support from a weaker dollar on Wednesday to trade slightly above $75, shrugging off an industry report showing surprise gains in U.S. inventories.
U.S. crude for November <CLc1>, the front-month contract after October went off the board on Tuesday, rose 12 cents to $75.09 by 0230 GMT, having slipped as much as 32 cents earlier. ICE Brent for November <LCOc1> shed 4 cents to $78.38. [O/R]
* Gold edged up on Wednesday, after hitting a fourth consecutive record, with the U.S. Federal Reserve moving closer to providing more support to the economy.
Spot gold <XAU=> edged up 0.2 percent to $1,288.35 an ounce by 0038 GMT, after touching a new record of $1,290.70 on Tuesday. [GOL/]
