Gary Chaw Shanghai concert is a Scam
Channel NewsAsia - 2 hours 59 minutes ago
Be warned. If you have bought tickets to Malaysian singer Gary Chaw's "Welcome to My World" Shanghai concert from China website, http://sh.paio.com.cn/, you have just been conned.
The website states that the concert will be held at the Shanghai International Gymnastic Centre on Feb 14 with the premium tickets costing about S$210.
On learning of this hoax, Chaw makes an urgent appeal to his fans, "Do not be conned. There is no such concert!" He is currently gathering evidence of the scam and will pursue this legally on behalf of his fans.
He reveals that he was invited two months back to stage his concert in Shanghai; however the deal eventually fell through. Little did he expect to hear fans enquiring about the Shanghai concert when he was at a radio event in Kaohsiung on Nov 28; he was also told that tickets had already been selling for almost a fortnight.
Chaw clarified the issue on the spot and expressed that he will engage someone to gather evidence of the crime on the Internet. The ticketing information on the website has been removed on Nov 30. His managing company will be working with Rock Records to redress the grievances of his fans and will take legal actions against the scammer.
