The website erred in selling several major artists' albums for a download price of only 29p [$0.48]. Many customers scored loads of downloads before Amazon realized that it was selling entire albums for less than the price of a single track for about four hours. Some of the albums, which is approximately 30 in number, that went for the less than half a dollar download price include Jason Mraz' "I'm Yours," Coldplay's "Viva La Vida - Prospekt's March Edition," Metallica's "Death Magnetic," Lily Allen's "It's Not Me, It's You," and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "I'm Blitz!" Abba, Norah Jones, James Morrison and Bruce Spingsteen' LPs were also affected. Amazon said in a statement, "We can confirm that yesterday there was a pricing error on a small number of MP3 albums. This issue has been rectified. Despite our best efforts, with the millions of items available on our website, pricing errors can occur." It was not disclosed how many albums were sold during the blunder, but it is thought that the mistake affected album charts.
