U.S. comedian Robert Schimmel dies after car accident LOS ANGELES - U.S. comedian Robert Schimmel died on Friday night in a Phoenix hospital from injuries he sustained in a car accident, his public relations firm said on Saturday. Schimmel, 60, was a passenger in his 19-year-old daughter's car on August 26 when she lost control after swerving to avoid another accident on a Phoenix highway. The daughter was hospitalized, but is expected to recover. Schimmel's 11-year-old son was also a passenger in the car and was uninjured, according to media reports.
