In a match the competition badly needs after a series of mismatches, the Dutch, inspired by ten Doeschate's knock of 119 off just 110 balls, racked up a total score of 292 for six. The Ashes heroes were shocking in the field as ten Doeschate went on the rampage, hitting three sixes and nine fours in a devastating show of power. "For the past six weeks I've struggled with the bat but I've worked really hard in the last two weeks and it was just one of those days," said the batsman. "It is a really good deck and I picked up the ball pretty early and it was one of those days when everything came naturally." Before the match, ten Doeschate, who has the highest ODI average in world cricket, said memories of a win for the Dutch over England in the 2009 World Twenty20 would help bolster Dutch resolve. The four completed matches so far at the World Cup have seen overwhelming wins for India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Australia, with the minnows of world cricket struggling. The current World Cup could be the last to feature the smaller international sides, with the next edition in 2015 featuring just 10 teams, down from the current 14. The International Cricket Council has not yet revealed the qualification process but the plans have infuriated the associate nations, represented at the ongoing tournament by Canada, Ireland, Kenya and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi vowed to win the World Cup for millions of weary fans back home who lost out on the showpiece when their country became a no-go zone. International cricket has been suspended in Pakistan since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009 which left eight people dead and injured seven visiting players and their assistant coach. "Not playing in our country is on our minds," Afridi said, ahead of his team's first match against Kenya on Wednesday. "We feel for our nation, our people who are missing the World Cup. "I think this is the main thing for us, so definitely we will try our level best to win, which is very important for us, and if we do that I hope some cricket returns to our country sooner rather than later." Besides the suspension of international cricket, Pakistan have also been hit by the spot-fixing scandal, which ended in lengthy bans on Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer, and other disciplinary problems. Afridi admitted it was hard to keep the team in the right frame of mind against a background of such problems but the team was now settled. "We now have such a combination that people have hopes that this team can do something," said Afridi. Veteran batsman Steve Tikolo vowed Tuesday that Kenya would lift themselves against Pakistan after their mauling at the hands of New Zealand. Kenya were skittled out for just 69 -- their lowest World Cup score and the fifth worst in tournament history -- in Nagpur on Sunday in a match that was over in just 31.5 overs. "We lost the game. It wasn't a good day for us but the good thing that came out in the changing room was that the boys were very disappointed and that shows the mark of good professionals," Tikolo said. New Zealand's World Cup cricketers were left shocked by the Christchurch earthquake as they scrambled desperately for news of loved ones. At least 65 people died after a 6.3-magnitude quake hit New Zealand's second city with the death toll likely to rise in a region still recovering from a 7.0 quake in September last year. "Everyone's families are fine, but quite a numb and flat feeling in the squad," veteran player Scott Styris wrote on Twitter. "Training was tough."
