The back of the U.S. Visa and Border Crossing card contains tiny strips with etchings of the names and presidential portraits of all the nation's president's through Bill Clinton. An examination of the card under a microscope one night led to the discovery of the misspelling of Pres. John Quincy Adams' name. On the back of the card the name of the nations’ sixth president reads "Adames" instead of "Adams." No one is sure if the Adams’ name was deliberately misspelled or if it was a mere typographical error. However, the folks over at TechDirt speculate that maybe the U.S. government deliberately created a typo in the card in an effort to thwart counterfeiting and detect forgeries.
