Santa Barbara, CA (AHN) - Some use force, others use violence. This bank robber however used his emotions to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, a man walked up to a teller at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust and told her he was a former employee of the bank and that the company still owed him money. He also told the teller he was suffering from cancer and forced to rob banks. The man handed the teller a note with his demands. The teller gave the man the cash and he left the bank ? in tears. Approximately 15 people were in the bank at the time, according to reports. The man did not appear to have a weapon on him. No one was injured during the robbery. Witnesses describe the robber as a middle-aged white male, maybe in his 50s, about 5'8" and about 170 pounds. Police searched the surrounding areas but found no trace of the man.
