Pakistan: 3 bodies found, Taliban suspected
AP - 1 hour 46 minutes ago
MIRAN SHAH, Pakistan - A police official says suspected Taliban militants in Pakistan's northwest have executed a Pakistani construction contractor and two Afghan men they accused of spying for the United States.
Akhtar Salam says the three bullet-riddled bodies were found Monday along a road some 16 miles (25 kilometers) east of Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region.
Salam says one victims was believed to be a construction contractor from the neighboring Bannu area who was abducted five days ago. A note on the man's body said the three victims had acted as American spies.
The U.S. is suspected of launching several missile strikes at militant targets in North Waziristan in recent months, prompting Taliban threats of retaliation.
