Hurricane Paloma weakens further to Category One

MIAMI (AFP) - - Hurricane Paloma weakened further early Sunday to a Category One storm as it moved across Cuba, the US National Hurricane Center said.
The center said Paloma now packed sustained winds of 140 kilometers (85 miles) an hour, which qualified it to a Category One storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
At 0900 GMT, the eye of the hurricane was located 45 kilometers (30 miles) southeast of the city iof Camaguey, Cuba, according to the US center.
