Qantas said one of the Boeing 747's four engines experienced "high vibration and temperature" shortly after take off. "The plane landed an hour later in Bangkok in a standard landing. This was not an emergency and has no relation whatsoever with Rolls Royce engine incident in an A380 last year," a Qantas spokesman said. The flight was bound for London. An uncontained engine failure or blow-out in a Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine forced a Qantas Airbus A380 to make an emergency landing in Singapore last November and prompted the temporary grounding of the Australian carrier's A380 fleet. A Cathay Pacific aircraft made an emergency landing in Singapore with an engine problem on Monday. Rolls-Royce said it would support the investigation into that incident.
