Related Topics Entertainment » Fashion » Television » CHICAGO | Thu Jul 14, 2011 5:38pm EDT CHICAGO (Reuters) - Accused murderer Drew Peterson has demanded a halt to a planned TV movie about his case starring actor Rob Lowe, his lawyer said on Thursday. "Ladykiller: The Drew Peterson Story," which Hollywood industry websites said last month was being filmed for Lifetime television, is based on what Peterson's attorney called an "extremely opinionated, blatantly biased, less than seriously researched and defamatory book." The movie could also bias potential jurors against Peterson, a former suburban Chicago police officer who is awaiting trial in the death of his third wife, attorney Walter Maksym said. The "cease and desist" letter was addressed to Lowe, Lifetime Entertainment and its parent companies, A&E Television Networks, Disney/ABC Television Group, Hearst Corporation, and other entities. Maksym said he sent the letter Wednesday evening and had not received any responses. Peterson has pleaded not guilty to the 2004 killing of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, who was found dead in the couple's bathtub in what was initially termed an accidental drowning but later ruled a homicide. His fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007 in a case that is unsolved. "Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco is expected to play Stacy Peterson in the movie.
