GUANGZHOU, China – Inflation is one of the biggest concerns for foreign companies operating in industrialized southern China, according to an annual survey by a major U.S. business group.
The report released Tuesday shows that just over half of about 400 member companies polled by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China reported that rising prices would hurt business this year.
Businesses were split on the effect of a strengthening yuan. About 40 percent say it would help their operations while about the same amount say it would hurt.
