Hansen Sinclair - AHN Reporter
Trotwood, OH (AHN) - The Wright-Patterson Bomb Squad was deployed to Trotwood Wednesday after a family stumbled upon explosives in a house.
The family was cleaning out a house left behind by a relative who recently died when they found the explosives.
The bomb squad removed what they described as military explosives from the home and took them to a nearby horse park, where it was virtually deserted.
The team then detonated the devices. Officials said there were a lot of military explosives in the house, including smoke bombs. The bomb squad chose an area where winds would not blow debris or smoke east and affect anyone's safety or property.
The detonation went off without a hitch. Police do not know why the owner of the house possessed the ammunition.
