WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's move to allow U.S. telecommunications companies to apply for licenses in Cuba is aimed at increasing the flow of information to the communist-ruled island, the White House said on Monday. "We stand on the side of having more information rather than less information reach the Cuban people," Dan Restrepo, a special assistant to Obama, told a news briefing.

"Rock Band" practicing "Chinese Democracy"
NEW YORK - Axl Rose may have spent 15 years fine-tuning the 14 tracks on "Chinese Democracy," but it took only five months for the album to make its way into the "Rock Band" video-game franchise. "Chinese Democracy" will be released in its entirety on the Rock Band Music Store on April 14, and gamers will be able to download and play all 13 songs from the record, Harmonix and MTV Games announced Friday.
