Karen Ignagni, president of America’s Health Insurance Plans, stated in a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius that U.S. insurance companies will not try to escape clauses in the new health care law, according to reports. Sebelius sent a letter to Ignagni on Monday warning health insurance companies to not go about looking for ways to refuse children with pre-existing conditions. Ignagni replied that the industry will fully comply with the new rules. The provision takes effect Sept. 23.
