Lady Gaga's new single compared to Madonna
NEW YORK - Pop diva Lady Gaga's new single, "Born This Way," debuted on Friday -- a nod to acceptance of race and sexuality and a straightforward dance floor song that was quickly compared to Madonna. The song is the lead track off a new album of the same title, to be released in May, and follows her best-selling albums "The Fame" and its extended version "The Fame Monster."
Jeff Beck hopes to make a "Commotion" at Grammys

Angelina Jolie denies reports of Haiti adoption
LOS ANGELES - Angelina Jolie has no plans to adopt a child from earthquake-hit Haiti, despite persistent reports in British newspapers that she is about to add another child to her brood of six, a spokesman for the actress said on Friday. Adam Waldman, an advisor to Jolie in her philanthropic efforts, told U.S. news website The Daily Beast that the Oscar-winning actress was in Haiti working on a project to improve child welfare and safety.
"King's Speech" expected to pass $200 million
LOS ANGELES - By Oscar week, "The King's Speech" will have jumped the $200 million mark at the worldwide box office, a dizzying performance for an independent historical drama. In the U.S., the film has earned $86.4 million to date for the Weinstein Co., and should do well again this weekend and next, which is the President's Day holiday. The Academy Awards are February 27.
Kevin Spacey bank movie asks "are we all greedy?"
BERLIN - Kevin Spacey stars in first-time director J.C. Chandor's "Margin Call," a drama set in a New York bank as it scrambles to offload massive toxic debts irrespective of what it means for the market or the population as a whole. Spacey, as long-serving trading boss Sam, wrestles with the knowledge that his actions will harm the bank's reputation and put people out of work, but he, like others in a cast including Demi Moore, feels obliged to follow orders as that is what pays.
Rihanna rehearsing for Grammys despite illness
LOS ANGELES - One day after pulling out of a benefit concert citing illness, Rihanna was spotted on Friday in rehearsals for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards and is apparently still on for the big show on Sunday. Representatives for Rihanna could not be reached for comment, but the "Umbrella" singer Tweeted that she would be rehearsing despite suffering from bronchitis.
Behind-the-scenes of Glee's music
LOS ANGELES - "Glee" is up for two golden gramophones at this Sunday's Grammy Awards, best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals and best compilation soundtrack album, and much of the credit is due to one person: Adam Anders, who produces all "Glee"-related songs for the show and albums as well as the music for the forthcoming tour. It's a full-time job times two, which is why Anders has a musical partner more than 10,000 miles away working during the overnight hours. It's also a highly demanding one, when show creator Ryan Murphy is your boss.

BERLIN - Germany's celebrity cross-eyed opossum Heidi has been recruited by Hollywood to predict winners of the Academy Awards on U.S. television, the Leipzig Zoo said Friday.
