MARKET SNAPSHOTS * The rupee closed at 85.05/10 to the dollar on Saturday, a new low triggered by high demand for dollars to pay for imports and dealers said they expected the currency to remain under pressure.[PKR/] * The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index <.KSE> ended 0.36 percent, or 34.38 points, higher at 9,614.19 on Friday on turnover of 140.66 million shares. * The net outflow of foreign investment in the stock market was $1.03 million on Friday. [http://www.nccpl.com.pk/fipi-new/index.php] * U.S. stocks dropped on Friday, as worries about fiscal turmoil in Europe and a drop in technology stocks pushed the S&P 500 to its worst monthly decline since February 2009. The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 53.13 points, or 0.52 percent, to 10,067.33. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> lost 10.66 points, or 0.98 percent, to 1,073.87.
