Hendersonville, TN (CNS) - Taylor Swift turned 20 this weekend, but the country music superstar made sure she wasn't the only one getting gifts. The "Love Story" hitmaker donated $250,000 to public schools across the country that she has either attended or worked with throughout the years.
The money that Swift donated will go towards books, programs and teachers' salaries.
"Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education," says Swift. "The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from really turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back."
As for celebrating her big 2-0, Swift held a Christmas-themed birthday party for her friends, her band and her tour crew. The party was held in Hendersonville, Tennessee at her family's home.
